Other Welder Training Options: Welding Apprenticeships in Florida
A welding apprenticeship can be an excellent way to learn how to become a welder well earning a good paycheck at the same time. The Boilermakers Union as well as the Ironworkers Union offer excellent opportunities through their apprenticeship programs.
Their apprenticeship programs generally last about 4 to 5 years and after each year of completion you get a raise. Wages can range anywhere between $15-$35 per hour depending on which geographical location you work out off. Benefits like health insurance and life insurance are often given to you at no cost.
After you complete your apprenticeship you will become what is called a journeyman and you will earn a full wage at this point. While both the Ironworkers and Boilermakers Union do not offer specific welding apprenticeships welding is a major part of the work they do. Both apprenticeships will allow you to become a certified welder. You will learn many other skills through on-the-job training and classroom-based learning like rigging, pipefitting and blueprint reading.
A apprenticeship with either of these unions can be an excellent opportunity to learn new skills.
