This community college offers a great welding program where you can earn an Associate’s Degree or a certificate. You will learn all of the common welding processes including SMAW, MIG, TIG and Flux Cored Arc Welding. What I really love about this welding school is that you will have the chance to take welding certification tests. Becoming a certified welder will allow you to get your foot in the door with higher paying companies.
In addition to hands on welding training you will also have in classroom learning. Most of your classes will consist of either welding theory, blueprint reading and/or metallurgy.
Washington County Community College offers a three semester welding program. You can see a list of all the classes you will take here. They cover pipe and plate welding on a verity of base metals including stainless steel.
