Other options for welding training in Texas: Welding Apprenticeships
A welding apprenticeship can be a great way to earn while you learn. Both the Ironworkers and Boilermakers unions offer apprenticeship programs that can last anywhere between four and five years. During each year of your apprenticeship you’ll make more money until you become a journeyman.
The pay for apprenticeships can range anywhere between $17-$25 per hour depending on which geographical location you work for. The pay for a full-fledged journeyman can be over $30 per hour. In addition to an excellent wage you will also receive excellent health benefits at no cost or little cost to you.
While the Ironworkers and Boilermakers are not strictly welders their work does encompass a significant amount of welding. In addition to welding you will learn many other skills like rigging, pipefitting, crane signaling and other construction related skills.
